Applying Physics concepts helps us to understand why things in the natural world happen the way they do. Physics enables us to explain (through calculations), for example, why a car takes as long as it does to come to a stop when the brakes are applied or why the rockets required to launch astronauts into space are as tall as 5 story building and why the supports of a bridge must be of certain dimensions.
