Horizon - Chemistry

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr A. Randhawa.

Chemistry touches our lives almost everywhere and every day, in medicine, the clothes we wear, the games we play, as well as the industries that make the things we use. The periodic table and simple compounds are covered as well as the basics of chemistry. The course covers: atomic structure, thermochemical principles, organic, redox and practical investigations where students examine the composition of various substances and the changes they can go through. This is a complete up-to-date course on chemistry designed to prepare students for studies in chemistry at a tertiary level. This course follows the same topic outline as the Level 2 Chemistry course. Throughout the year, students will achieve a good level of understanding in theory, calculations and laboratory skills.
