Horizon - Calculus
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr F. Ah Ling.
The Mathematics 301 course offers a mixture of Statistics (3 internal standards with 4 credits x 3 = 12 credits) and Calculus (2 internal standards with 3 credits x 2 = 6 credits) and one optional external standard: Differentiation (6 credits).
This course will lead to University entrance providing you with at least 18 credits towards University Entrance.
The Differentiation Calculus External Examination carries 6 credits and must be considered if you are wishing to pursue studies in Architecture and Engineering. In order to secure a course endorsement you would have to gain a M or E in the Differentiation external examination. The teacher will consult with students about their pathway options, and will offer this standard over and above the others on offer. It is therefore possible to secure 24 credits which includes the external as well.
