Growth - Gagana Sāmoa - O le Fatu o le ola
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr E. Lafo'ou Lusa.
Niu – O le Fatu o le ola, Coconut tree - The essence of life.
Learning gagana and the aganu’u fa’asamoa is like the fruit of the coconut tree. The young shoot emerging is like the growth and development of young people. If the coconut tree is looked after properly, it bears well-formed fruit. This course outline uses the Niu(Coconut tree) as a metaphorical device to structure the course content.. It reflects the essential importance of the Niu to traditional Samoan society.
